The manufacturer describes From Dusk Till Dawn as a fresh citrus unisex fragrance with grapefruit, vetiver and fir. It’s called a homage to Elysium Pour Homme Parfum Cologne by Roja Parfums. In other words, a fragrance inspired by it. You could say ‘clone’, but let’s call it a homage — that word has its own meaning too.
A bright, light summer fragrance. On the whole, I liked it. But on me — and I do mean on me — it lasts about five hours at most. After that, I can still catch a faint trace, but it no longer has much presence.
I won’t compare it with Elysium in detail. I’ve come across descriptions of practically identical note pyramids on fragrance sites, and I’ve looked at them myself — the foundation is very similar. But the character is still different. So I’m more interested in From Dusk Till Dawn itself than in finding an exact match for another fragrance.
A good summer perfume, but not quite my style. It’s on the fruity, citrusy side: grapefruit, a little grassiness — that sort of thing. I’m more drawn to wood, leather and vetiver. A slightly different direction appeals to me.
I own it and I do wear it, but I try to keep it for warm weather. I wouldn’t choose it for myself in cooler weather, especially winter. Though that’s open to debate — everyone has their own preferences. So there you have it: my impressions.
