The house behind the fragrance / 2019
Bibliothèque de Parfum
Bibliothèque de Parfum is a Ukrainian niche fragrance brand founded in Kharkiv in 2019. Its perfume-library concept gives each fragrance a name and a story of its own.

Uncensored draws comparisons with Straight to Heaven White Cristal by Kilian. And here it’s that familiar story with Bibliothèque de Parfum again: you look at the note pyramid — the same ingredients, yet you get a different perfume. With a different character, a different base and its own way of developing.
There’s a slight hint of rum right from the opening, even though it sits in the heart of the note pyramid. Unlike in Kilian’s fragrance, the dried fruit here has been moved to the base. As it develops, a nutty note and cedar come through clearly.
For me, this is one of those details that make getting to know a fragrance interesting: you look at the description, expect one thing and find something of your own.
That’s why comparing perfumes solely by their note pyramids is a thankless task. The notes may match, even be listed in exactly the same way, yet the composition itself can be different. The same ingredients — but a completely different character and development.
Longevity — seven hours or more. Season-wise, I’d lean towards autumn and winter. Cooler weather, in other words, because this is a heavier perfume in character and may not feel quite right in summer. A nice, moderate scent trail.
