The house behind the fragrance / 2019
Bibliothèque de Parfum
Bibliothèque de Parfum is a Ukrainian niche fragrance brand founded in Kharkiv in 2019. Its perfume-library concept gives each fragrance a name and a story of its own.

‘A whirlwind of citrus in dark wood’ — that’s how the manufacturer describes Hurricane, classifying it as a woody fragrance. Well, I’m not sure about a pronounced woody character — I don’t find it that strong here. But the fragrance itself is good.
Its note pyramid draws comparisons with Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. Yes, a familiar direction, but to me, Hurricane is very much a creation in its own right. As with other Bibliothèque de Parfum fragrances I know: a similar foundation, different emphasis — and you end up with a different story.
I like vetiver. It’s one of the ingredients that appeal to me in perfumery, and it fits well here. Hurricane is wonderful to wear in summer, but I wouldn’t limit it to summer alone. Spring and autumn work too. Perhaps winter as well — you need to see how it feels to you personally.
I’d call the scent trail moderate. Though there was an interesting moment: I could no longer smell it myself, but someone told me the fragrance was quite noticeable. That happens — you think it’s gone, while people around you can still smell it.
Longevity is good too. I’d say seven — around seven hours is what I’d expect. Of course, if you only apply a tiny spray, it may fade sooner. With my usual application, it lasts quite well.
Overall, a good fragrance. As for when and how much to wear — that’s down to your own taste.
